Feytouched

The fey are known for their curiousity (some would say obsession) with humanoids and giants, and sometimes a fey falls in love with one of these creatures. The creatures known as feytouched are offsprings of half-fey and either a humanoid or a giant as ancestors. Feytouched are a widely varied group of beings--some are wispy and beautiful, while others are ugly and brutish. Some resemble elves, with pointed ears and almond shaped eyes. Others look more like trolls, with warty skin and disproportioned limbs.

The most common variant of feytouched are humans with fey ancestors known as wechselbälger. More rare to see are the undas who share the heritage of aquatic fey.

Wechselbalg

Locals in taverns across all of Faerun often tell tales of lone nymphs or dryads who chose humans as lover. While many of such stories are simple fairy tales, they occasianally do occur. Fey are deeply curious about humans, spending a great deal of time watching their behavior and playing pranks on them while invisible or staying hidden. Sometimes they have dalliances with humans which they've fallen in love, often forgetting that there are consequences for their actions.

The offsprings of such resulting unions are half-fey and wechselbälger are the descendents of these enigmatic crossbreeds. Being humans with fey heritages, it is not too suprisingly that wechselbälger are very curious and charismatic in character. Their love for pranks and rather unique humor is well known amomgst tale-tellers. They appear mostly human, with only few characteristics that are out of the norm -- vibrantly colored hair, feathered eyebrows, or a propensity for speaking in rhymes are only the most common traits.

Racial Traits:

- Ability Adjustments: +2 Dexterity, -2 Constitution, +2 Charisma.

- Low-Light Vision: A wechselbalg can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination.

- Fey Heritage: Wechselbälger are descended from creatures native to the fey realms. These feytouched are naturally resistant to the most common effects produced by their ancestors.

- Fey Type: Wechselbälger count as Fey creatures for the purpose of spells, bane weapons, favored enemy and other class abilities.

- Spell Resistance: Wechselbälger have a spell resistance of 5+1 per character level.

- Spell-like abilities:
1/day - Charm Person as a sorcerer of equal level.

- Skills: +2 racial bonus on Hide and Move Silently checks.

- Favored Class: Bard. A multiclass wechselbalg's bard class does not count when determining whether she takes an experience point penalty for multiclassing.

- Level Adjustment +1: Wechselbälger are slightly more powerful and gain levels more slowly than other races. It will take more experience for a wechselblag to reach level 2 than it would for normal races, for example.

Unda

Nymphs, nixies, sirines and other fey of the water are withdrawn and mostly avoid contact with nonfey. However, sometimes these beings will charm humanoids if the need shall arise. The reasons to do so may vary greatly; may it out of pure curiousity, to avoid violence and harm, or a never ceasing longing for a lover. On rare occasions, aquatic half-fey are born on the fey whims and will be taken care by their mortal parent after birth since fey parents rarely have the interest to look out for their child long enough until it reaches adulthood. If such a aquatic half-fey chooses to mate with a nonfey, the born children will most likely be a member of the feytouched race known as Unda.

Undas are free minded and curious about people who pick their interest, but will move on shortly after some time passed. Their unquestionable bond with water spirits may be due to their heritage or perhaps because of their burning passion to sail fascinated on clean bodies of water. Undas have a wide range of appearances; some may have webbed hands and feets, others could have pearl-like eyes or small fish scales, which are cool to the touch. Yet others may smell like fresh sea foam or have gills on their necks.
